Ideology : To achieve the built form as a symbol of power and monumentality yet accessible to the common people as and when required.
The role of courthouse circulation system is both to connect courthouse components and to separate the movement of the public, judges, court personnel and prisoners throughout the courthouse.
ISOMETRIC VIEW
There can be no doubt that symbolism has a very significant role to play in court architecture and design. The institution is expected to uphold the law; to demonstrate a certain purity; and to manifest a symbolic weight.
MAIN ENTRANCE
Designs shall adhere to sound construction practice and utilize materials, methods and equipment of proven dependability. Buildings shall be economical to build, operate, and maintain, and should be accessible to the handicapped.
ENTRANCE 2 - AMPHITHEATER
Among the responsibilities of courthouse design is to create environments that not only address functional and security requirements, but reduce that inherent stress. A day-lit waiting area with a view reduces the stress of those waiting for their day in court.
WAITING AREA
A well functioning courtroom is a cornerstone of the justice system. It should be dignified and elegant.
Designing a robust and accessible infrastructure that can accommodate inevitable change without disrupting court operations is a critical responsibility.
